If there is a place in Merida that is widelly known in the world, that place is "Cafe Pop".
It's fame goes far, as far as countries like Japan or Italy. "La pop" as it is called by locals, appears in tourist guides as a reference point for both location and excelence earned by 33 years of experience in fine service, highest food quality and impecable hygiene.

Lunch packages were designed for tourists or those that are "on the go" when they need to catch an early tour bus and maximize their time, another genius idea was the one of a kind interior design, featuring paintings that give its pop art ambience, in particular the one known as "the good, the bad, and the ugly" which in fact is a reproduction of the cover of an old uruguayan record album.

Everything comes together, the atmosphere its completed with the furniture which is in the same place it's been since inauguration day without a trace of time. You can always find all sorts of people who visit this peculiar place, from grandparents to young people, politicians or artists, intelectuals and students of any background, social status or gender.
Its open from 7 a.m. till midnight all throughout the year.
